RBF grantee the Youth Initiative for Human Rights (YIHR) celebrated the graduation of its New Policy School's third class and the matriculation of its fourth, on Sept. 7.

The Rockefeller Brothers Fund has made revisions to its Pivotal Place: Western Balkans guidelines. As progress in the region is made, the Fund has clarified the guidelines, in order to provide a clear understanding of its direction and priorities in the Western Balkans.

Last month, the U.S. Embassy in Montenegro awarded grants to four RBF grantees: Fund for Active Citizenship (fAKT), 35 mm, The Network for the Affirmation of NGO Sector-MANS (MANS), and Youth Initiative for Human Rights (YIHR).

Youth activists, representatives from member states, institutions, the EU Presidency, and human rights advocates from the Western Balkans and around the globe gathered in Serbia from December 4–6 to review critical challenges in the region and possible solutions.

On October 2, 2009, citizens from across Belgrade gathered in Pioneers Park to protest growing human rights violations, violence, murder, and safety threats in Serbian society.

Edwin Rekosh, human rights lawyer and founder and executive director of the Public Interest Law Institute (PILI), an RBF grantee, is this year's recipient of the International Human Rights Award from the American Bar Association Section of Litigation.

Attended by senior Kosovar political and civil society leaders, the conference on Developing a Strategy for Kosovo's First 120 Days was held at the Pocantico Conference Center from April 12-14, 2007.

The Balkan sun is blistering. In Obilic, a town in Kosovo, the region's most unstable corner, coal dust and smoke from a massive power plant taint the air with sulfur.
