Four Grantees Secure Awards from the U.S. Embassy in Montenegro

Last month, the U.S. Embassy in Montenegro awarded grants to four RBF grantees: Fund for Active Citizenship (fAKT), 35 mm, The Network for the Affirmation of NGO Sector-MANS (MANS), and Youth Initiative for Human Rights (YIHR). U.S. Ambassador to Montenegro Roderick W. Moore announced the awards on April 9, praising the role that civil society organizations play in a democratic society. Made possible through the U.S. Embassy's Democracy Commission Small Grant program, this year's focus was on projects that promote civic participation. The organizations recognized are working toward increasing public interest and citizen involvement in issues such as protecting human rights, strengthening interethnic relations, volunteering, and demanding transparency in government institutions.
