Legendary jazz clarinetist and tenor saxophonist Ken Peplowski will present a one-day concert at the David Rockefeller Creative Arts Center, celebrating the spirit and rich history of jazz. In partnership with the National Jazz Museum in Harlem, Peplowski will bring together a talented lineup of local and national musicians. Performers will honor the timeless brilliance of legendary artists with sets featuring Brazilian jazz, music from the swing and big band era, contemporary jazz, and music by Louis Armstrong and Benny Goodman. Food trucks will be onsite with food for purchase.
Joining Ken Peplowski onstage will be Randy Brecker, Ada Rovatti, Ehud Asherie, Peter Washington, Willie Jones III, Rossano Sportiello, Bruce Harris, Mariel Bildstein, Ada Rovatti, and Brianna Thomas.
This performance will be held during Upstate Art Weekend, an annual event celebrating the cultural vibrancy of upstate New York through events and open exhibitions. Marie B Gauthiez, the inaugural recipient of the Parent Artist Residency at Pocantico, will open her studio for audience members to explore her work and process during the performance, intermission, and reception.

Ken Peplowski has performed in small clubs, the Hollywood Bowl, Las Vegas, the Newport Jazz Festival, and on numerous soundtracks and records. Ken has collaborated with musicians including Mel Torme, Leon Redbone, Charlie Byrd, Peggy Lee, George Shearing, and Madonna. He has served as artistic director on jazz festivals and cruises. His latest albums are “Live at Mezzrow” and “Unheard Bird.”
The National Jazz Museum in Harlem (NJMiH)’s mission is to preserve, promote, and present jazz by inspiring knowledge, appreciation, and celebration of jazz locally, nationally, and internationally. The NJMiH showcases the diverse voices of jazz, welcoming artists and audiences from every background, and creating a space where all perspectives can be celebrated.
