Join us for a special curator-led tour focused on Pablo Picasso’s influence on the collections and exhibitions at The Pocantico Center. The program will begin in the David Rockefeller Creative Arts Center gallery, now showing Woven Wonders: Kykuit’s Picasso Tapestries, a selection of monumental tapestries based on paintings by Pablo Picasso and woven by Jacqueline de la Baume Dürrbach. The tour will continue on to the modern art galleries inside Kykuit, where guests will have a rare opportunity to view additional Picasso tapestries, surrounded by Nelson Rockefeller’s collection of 20th-century art. The tour concludes on Kykuit’s Tennis Lawn with The Bathers (1956), a monumental bronze sculptural group cast from an assemblage Picasso originally created from scraps of wood.

This event will be followed by a reception on Kykuit’s West Terrace.

Guests may arrive 45 minutes prior to the event start time to enjoy the new Sculpture Walk outside the DR Center. Please note that events will begin promptly at their scheduled start time. Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of staff.

Some parts of this tour will require walking uphill, on slippery or uneven terrain, gravel paths, and stairs. Please wear sturdy, comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.

Sunscreen and bug spray are recommended.
