Sculpture Walk
May 29, 2026–
The Pocantico Center
The Sculpture Walk features pieces by Anton Prinner (1902-1983), Mark di Suvero (b. 1933), Marino Marini (1901-1980), Henry Moore (1898-1986), Herbert Ferber (1906-1991), and Ursula von Rydingsvard (b. 1942) interwoven throughout a thoughtfully landscaped pathway starting from the Stafford parking lot, past the David Rockefeller Creative Arts Center toward the Coach Barn conference center.
These works, on long-term loan from The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), complement a permanent collection of over 70 modern sculptures acquired, curated, and installed on the grounds by Nelson Rockefeller in the 1960s and ’70s. Nelson was involved in MoMA throughout his life: His mother, Abby Aldrich Rockefeller, co-founded the museum in 1929 and Nelson served twice as its president in the 1940s and '50s. The Sculpture Walk pays tribute to this longstanding relationship between the Rockefeller family and MoMA, inviting reflection on art, environment, and public access.
“Decades of cross-pollination between the Rockefeller family and MoMA are on vivid display across The Pocantico Center grounds,” said Stephen Heintz, president and CEO of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. “We are deeply grateful to curator Ann Temkin and MoMA for this collaboration, which allows us to bring extraordinary works to the public, and for the ongoing exchange of ideas between our institutions.”
“MoMA is delighted to collaborate with the Rockefeller Brothers Fund on the installation of six sculptures from our collection in the beautiful setting of the new Sculpture Walk,” said Ann Temkin, the Marie-Josée and Henry Kravis chief curator of painting and sculpture at The Museum of Modern Art.
Visitors can access the Sculpture Walk, weather permitting, with free registration to the David Rockefeller Creative Arts Center Gallery or with tickets to select events. Advance registration is required.
