Trustee

Henry Timms is president and CEO of Lincoln Center—the world’s leading performing arts center, encompassing 10 organizations, including the Metropolitan Opera, New York Philharmonic, and New York City Ballet.

Under Henry’s leadership, Lincoln Center has undergone a significant transformation. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he created an outdoor performing arts center with ten stages that reached a new and diverse audience. He completed the fundraising for the $550 million David Geffen Hall and accelerated its renovation by two years. The new hall opened in October 2022 to great critical acclaim.

Henry is the creator of #GivingTuesday, a global philanthropic movement that has catalyzed over $10 billion in donations for good causes. By some estimates, it is the largest and most diverse philanthropic movement in history. He coauthored the international bestselling book New Power, named Book of the Year by Bloomberg, Fortune, the Financial Times, and CNBC.

In December 2022, Henry was named an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for services to the arts and philanthropy. He is a Hauser Leader at Harvard Kennedy School, a senior fellow at Stanford University and the United Nations Foundation, a visiting fellow at the University of Oxford, a GREAT Campaign Ambassador, and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
