Cuban Arts Festival to Run in New York City This Spring
New York City's arts and cultural community is gearing up to welcome dozens of artists from Cuba and across the United States to partake in "¡Sí Cuba!" a three-month festival celebrating Cuban arts and culture that will encompass music, dance, cinema, literature, and the visual arts. The festival will run from March 31 to June 16 in venues across New York City. The Brooklyn Academy of Music, an RBF grantee, is leading the festival consortium of fellow cultural and educational institutions planning the event. Major support for the festival is provided by the Ford Foundation, the Robert Sterling Clark Foundation, and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. Stephen Heintz, president of the Fund, and Ben Rodriguez-Cubeñas, director of the RBF's Pivotal Place: New York City program, serve as co-chairs of the honorary committee, along with Beth Rudin DeWoody, president of the May and Samuel Rudin Family Foundation.
