UNEARTH

A documentary film by Hunter Nolan

The David Rockefeller Creative Arts Center

Ticket price: $16.82

In a documentary film by Hunter Nolan, two sets of siblings learn of plans for a proposed copper mine near their homes in Alaska’s pristine Bristol Bay area. The Salmon sisters, Native Alaskans, work on the regulatory front, remaining hyper-vigilant to political pressures that could shift at any moment and pushing the federal EPA to block the project. The Strickland brothers, independent fishermen who know they could be just one mine accident away from losing their livelihood, probe closed-door meetings to expose the truth behind what the developer tells the public.

After the ninety minute screening, director Hunter Nolan will lead a conversation with invited panelists Michael Northrop and Anisa Kamadoli Costa to discuss the film, its environmental themes, and the current status of the case in Bristol Bay. A reception with access to Sketching Light: Chagall’s Windows for Union Church, now on display in the David Rockefeller Creative Arts Center gallery, will follow.

Presented in partnership with the RBF’s Sustainable Development program.
