Art historian Deborah A. Goldberg, Ph.D., explores Louise Nevelson's monumental metal sculpture Atmosphere and Environment VI in relation to the artist's earlier assemblages in wood, her contemporary sculpture in plexiglass, and work by her peers. Dr. Goldberg also investigates its placement on the grounds of Kykuit by Nelson Rockefeller.
In a companion video, Dr. Goldberg and Arnaldo Ugarte, sculpture conservation technician at The Pocantico Center, discuss the conservation of Nevelson's work at the estate.
