SPANGLISH SH!T: A Bilingual Brujería Musical

Upcoming

The David Rockefeller Creative Arts Center at Pocantico

Tickets $16.80 (includes $1.80 ticketing fee)

Spanglish Sh!t is back! Rescheduled from summer 2025, this bilingual work-in-process musical returns to the DR Center stage.

Brujita, the new Puerto Rican student at Suburban High, cooks enchanting meals. But in the cafeteria, classmates make fun of her “smelly” packed lunches while gobbling down hamburgers. When the burger-flipping lunch lady offers Brujita a recipe for instant assimilation, Brujita must decide if brewing up popularity is worth losing what boils over in the process.

Book and lyrics by Samora La Perdida; music by Josiah Handelman, Matthew Zwiebel, and Mobéy Lola Irizarry; produced by En Garde Arts.

This event will be followed by a reception in the DR Center Gallery, now showing Woven Wonders: Kykuit’s Picasso Tapestries.

Presented in partnership with the RBF Culpeper Arts & Culture program and En Garde Arts as part of the Culpeper Summer Performance Series.

All sales final; no refunds.
