Page 73 presents new plays in development by two Interstate 73 writers group members during their October 2022 Pocantico Residency.

Playwrights Tyler English-Beckwith and Keelay Gipson will introduce their work, followed by staged readings of excerpts by a cast of professional actors. After the performance, the playwrights and actors will lead a discussion with the audience about the works and the creative process. The event will be followed by a reception with special access to the DR Center gallery, currently showing Inspired Encounters: Women Artists and the Legacies of Modern Art.

This event is presented in partnership with the RBF Culpeper Arts & Culture program.

Tyler English-Beckwith

Tyler English-Beckwith is a playwright, filmmaker, and actress. She is the recipient of the 2020 Leah Ryan Fund for Emerging Women Writers and the 2018 Kennedy Center Paula Vogel Play Prize. Her plays include Mingus (2020 Bay Area Playwrights Festival), Maya and Rivers (2020 Fire This Time Festival), and TWENTYEIGHT (The Vortex, Austin, TX). Tyler was a staff writer on season 7 of Outlander on Starz and is currently developing several onscreen projects.

Keelay Gipson

Keelay Gipson is an award-winning writer and professor. His work has been developed and supported by Roundabout, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Lambda Literary, The Old Globe, Artist Repertory Theater, New York Stage and Film, Ars Nova, Dramatist Guild Foundation, New Dramatists, National Black Theater, Rattlestick Playwrights' Theater, Classical Theater of Harlem, and New York Theatre Workshop. His play demons. will receive its world premiere this spring at The Connelly Theater in a co-production with The Bushwick Starr and JAG Productions.
