Marcel Breuer House Art and Furnishings Tour

Go inside Marcel Breuer’s iconic “country home for the commuter” to explore its history and restoration. Designed and constructed for a 1948 exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art, the house was later purchased by John D. Rockefeller, Jr., and reassembled as a guest house on the family estate, where today it hosts artist residents of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund.

Curatorial staff at The Pocantico Center will lead guests on a tour to examine the art and furnishings adorning the Breuer House’s interiors, much of which was selected by the architect himself.

Some parts of this tour will require walking uphill or on slippery or uneven terrain, gravel paths, and stairs. Please wear sturdy, comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.
