In celebration of Earth Day and Poetry Month, three renowned Westchester poets read from work, grounded in sense of place, that explores what it means to inhabit human and natural landscapes in a time of environmental reckoning.  After the reading, the writers will take questions from the audience. A reception will follow.

COVID-19 VISITOR REQUIREMENTS:

All tickets must be purchased in advance online. ALL TICKET HOLDERS must show proof of vaccination and wear masks in all indoor spaces at The Pocantico Center. Proof of vaccination and a valid picture ID must be presented upon check-in.

B.K. Fischer

B.K. Fischer is the author of Ceive (BOA Editions), a finalist for the 2021 National Books Critic Circle Award, and four previous collections of poetry: Radioapocrypha (Mad Creek, Ohio State University Press, 2018), My Lover’s Discourse (Tinderbox Editions, 2018), St. Rage’s Vault (The Word Works, 2013), and Mutiny Gallery (Truman State University Press, 2011). She has published in The New York Times, The Nation, and The Paris Review, among others. She is the poet laureate of Westchester County.

Iain Pollock

Iain Haley Pollock has published two collections of poetry: Ghost, Like a Place (Alice James Books, 2018), which was nominated for an NAACP Image Award, and Spit Back a Boy (University of Georgia Press, 2011), winner of the Cave Canem Poetry Prize. Pollock is the incoming director of the MFA Program at Manhattanville College. He is a member of the poetry faculty at the low-residency Solstice MFA Program and the editorial board of Slapering Hol Press. 

Silvina-López-Medin

Silvina López Medin

Born in Buenos Aires, Silvina López Medin  has published five books of poetry, including La noche de los bueyes (Loewe Foundation International Young Poetry Prize), 62 brazadas (City of Buenos Aires Poetry Prize), That Salt on the Tongue to Say Mangrove, and the chapbook Excursion (Oversound Chapbook Prize). Her writing has appeared in Ploughshares and Hyperallergic, among others. She is an editor at Ugly Duckling Presse.
