Shang Yuan is the manager of the Fund’s Beijing office (seconded to RBF). Prior to joining the RBF, Ms. Shang worked as a regional coordinator at the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, where she facilitated the Council’s cooperation with various business associations, companies, and government agencies in the American and Oceanian regions with a focus on the United States. She worked intensively on the business segments of multi-lateral platforms including APEC, BRICS, and the World Expo.
Ms. Shang received her M.A. and B.A. degrees in comparative literature and culture from Tsinghua University (China). She was a fellow of the Asia Pacific Leadership Program of the East-West Center in Hawai’i in 2013 and has also worked and studied at the Universidad de Cuenca (Ecuador) and Universidad de Salamanca (Spain), where she became fluent in Spanish.
