Sharda Cherwoo is an Executive in Residence at Columbia Business School and advises on C-suite leadership, consulting, business strategy, private equity, technology, digital transformation, and corporate governance. She retired as a senior partner from Ernst & Young LLP (EY), where her nonlinear career of almost 40 years, began in the audit practice and included work in each of the firm’s service lines—audit, tax, management consulting, and M&A.
Cherwoo also has significant governance experience. She is a member of the boards of The Carlyle Group and the Fortune 100 company World Kinect Corporation. She serves on the Audit and Governance Committees of corporate boards.
Cherwoo serves as a mentor and advisor to several innovative hyper-automation and GPT-based AI start-ups. She also serves on the nonprofit boards of the National Association of Corporate Directors New York Chapter, Tax Analysts, and International House. Cherwoo is a certified public accountant and holds a B.Sc. in Accounting from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut.
