Two new modern art installations by the Rockefeller Brothers Fund have launched at The Pocantico Center in Tarrytown just in time for summer cultural exploration.
Woven Wonders: Kykuit’s Picasso Tapestries is a selection of reimagined paintings by Pablo Picasso from Nelson Rockefeller’s collection. The exhibit features eight colorful large-scale tapestries woven with wool and silk by Jacqueline de la Baume Dürrbach with Picasso’s permission.
The wall hangings are part of a larger collection commissioned by Nelson Rockefeller between 1955 and 1975. Traditionally, they are displayed inside a gallery at Kykuit, the Rockefeller estate, but are currently showcased in the David Rockefeller Creative Arts Center until March of 2027.
