Obama to Inherit Broken Government

The Center for Public Integrity, bipartisan watchdog and RBF grantee, has launched the Broken Government project, which provides a comprehensive online inventory of 128 executive branch failures during the Bush administration across the U.S. federal government.

Based on in-depth research and interviews, the site provides a blueprint of systematic challenges that await the incoming administration, ranging from an Environmental Protection Agency that overlooked and underutilized its own office and task force on children's health, to a Department of Homeland Security that tracks millions of international visitors each year but does not know when or if they've left the country.  Web site visitors can also suggest additional failures, as well as rank them by category.
