Broadway Dance Lab, better known as Dance Lab New York (DLNY), provides choreographers with the essential elements they need—dancers, space, and time—to craft new work and advance the art of dance.

DLNY’s core program is the Lab Cycle, which offers choreographers structured rehearsal time in an expansive studio space, complete with a rehearsal director and a curated ensemble of professional dancers who are secured with contracts, competitive salaries, and insurance.

In 2019, DLNY summer Lab Cycle choreographer Ephrat Asherie followed a week of creative incubation in Manhattan with additional time at The Pocantico Center. She described the residency experience as an opportunity where “everyone is detached from distraction and ... we can be attentive to the task at hand: to work on new choreographic ideas.”
