Designed as a moderate-cost, expandable, and stylish family home by Bauhaus-trained Marcel Breuer for MoMA’s 1949 “House in the Museum Garden” exhibition, it was subsequently acquired by John D. Rockefeller, Jr., and rebuilt at Pocantico as a guest house in 1950.
