Tickets: (This event is sold out.)

In this special film produced at Kykuit in 2020, art historian Deborah A. Goldberg, Ph.D. explores Louise Nevelson’s monumental metal sculpture Atmosphere and Environment VI in relation to the artist's earlier assemblages in wood, her contemporary sculpture in plexiglass, and work by her peers. Dr. Goldberg also investigates its placement on the grounds of Kykuit by Nelson Rockefeller. After the screening, Dr. Goldberg will lead a discussion with the audience.

The event will be followed by a reception with special access to the DR Center gallery, currently showing Inspired Encounters: Women Artists and the Legacies of Modern Art, where Louise Nevelson’s plexiglass work, Transparent Sculpture VII (1967-68), is on view.
