People’s Theatre Project Presents "The Diamond"

A work-in-process showing

David Rockefeller Creative Arts Center at Pocantico

Tickets: $15 + ($1.75 ticketing fee)

The People’s Theatre Project (PTP) will punctuate their residency at Pocantico with a work-in-process showing of The Diamond, an interactive show that explores the nuances and complexities of the immigrant experience in three acts. It follows a nation’s first Afro-Latina president and her all-female cabinet as they travel through time and realize that they must free their ancestors to bring liberation to their present-day constituents. Compiled from three original PTP plays, Las Mariposas, Somos Más, and Doña Mañana, The Diamond celebrates the resilience and humanity of immigrants to the United States.

The event will be followed by an artist discussion and reception with special access to the DR Center gallery, currently showing Inspired Encounters: Women Artists and the Legacies of Modern Art.

The snow date for this event is Friday, February 17.
