Flugelhornist Mark Morganelli leads the Jazz Forum All-Stars in a musical performance celebrating Brazilian Carnaval and the release of the group’s double CD, Brasil! This celebration will feature instrumental and vocal renditions of some of the most popular melodies associated with Brazilian Carnaval, including music from the award-winning film Black Orpheus. Morganelli and the Jazz Forum All-Stars will perform celebrated Brazilian compositions by Antonio Carlos Jobim, Luiz Bonfa, and more.

The Jazz Forum All-Stars features Monika Oliveira (Vocals), Roni Ben-Hur (Guitar), Eddie Monteiro (Midi-Accordion, Vocals), and Nanny Assis (Drums, Vocals).

The performance will be followed by a reception with special access to the DR Center gallery, currently showing Portraits of Process.

Mark Morganelli

As a trumpeter and flugelhornist, Morganelli has recorded six albums, most recently For Miles, recorded last March in Italy, and Brasil!, released in 2019. Morganelli has performed at the Montreux, JVC/NY, Syracuse, and Saratoga Jazz Festivals and has toured in Italy for the past thirty years. Morganelli has played with Dizzy Gillespie, Paquito D’Rivera, Jimmy Cobb, and Louis Hayes.
