Atika Khawaja

Program Associate, Democratic Practice–United States

Atika Khawaja is the program associate for the Democratic Practice-U.S. program. Prior to joining the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, Atika spent five years as a researcher and consultant at Candid (merged entity of Foundation Center and Guidestar). She also has experience as a research analyst at Flashpoint Intelligence formulating custom analytical reports on conflict in South Asia and the Middle East. As the regional editor for MENA at the Economist Intelligence Unit, she was responsible for the production of the country commerce and finance products. At the Council of Foreign Relations, her work was focused on the Women and U.S. Foreign Policy program.

Atika holds a master’s degree in politics with a concentration in international political economy from New York University. She completed her undergraduate degree in political science and English from the College of Wooster and also studied at the School of Oriental and Africa Studies, University of London.
