Report Offers Analysis on Sanctions Imposed Against Iran

While international sanctions against Iran have slowed the expansion of its nuclear program, they also have complicated geopolitical relations for the United States. The Iran Project, a Rockefeller Brothers Fund grantee, offers more analysis of the benefits and consequences of imposing sanctions against the country in the second of its series of reports on relations with Iran. The report, Weighing Benefits and Costs of International Sanctions Against Iran [PDF] examines the complex history of U.S. and U.S.-led sanctions against Iran. The Iran Project is a nongovernmental organization working to promote diplomatic solutions between the United States and Iranian governments. It was founded in 2002 by the United Nations Association of the United States of America and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund.

A podcast and transcript of the report's launch on December 6, 2012 are available online.
