Presidents of Croatia, Macedonia, and Montenegro Support the Establishment of RECOM

Croatian President Ivo Josipović, Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov, and Montenegrin President Filip Vujanović have appointed personal envoys to RECOM, the regional commission working to identify and disclose facts about war crimes that occurred in the Balkans during the 1990s. The envoys are Zlata Đurđević, a professor at the Faculty of Law at the University of Zagreb; Luben Arnaudoski, deputy secretary general in charge of legal and organizational affairs for the president of Macedonia; and Sonja Tomović-Šundić, dean of the faculty of political science in Podgorica, Montenegro and the president's advisor on minority and human rights. They will work with RECOM's Regional Expert Group, to review its draft statute and move forward in the establishment of RECOM.

RBF grantees working to establish RECOM include: the Center for Research, Documentation and Publication, Civic Association CRTA-The Center for Research, Transparency and Accountability, Humanitarian Law Center - Documentation and Memory, and Youth Initiative for Human Rights.
