National League of Cities Releases Planning Guide on Civic Engagement of Immigrants

The National League of Cities (NLC) has released a guide for municipal leaders about developing strategies to engage recent immigrants.  Civic Engagement and Recent Immigrant Communities is a guide to help civic leaders strengthen relationships with recent immigrants, which can have a major impact on such issues as schools, public services, and local businesses.

This planning guide was developed by NLC's Municipal Action for Immigrant Integration Program and its City Futures Panel on Democratic Governance, an RBF-supported project, which works to support its 1,600 member cities and 49 state municipal leagues seeking to engage citizens more effectively in responding to their cities' challenges and opportunities.
