Companies, States, Regions, and Cities Commit to Ambitious Climate Targets
More than 100 corporations, states, regions, and cities around the world have committed to ambitious targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, according to research published by RBF grantees CDP and The Climate Group. The research highlights the growing worldwide effort to drastically cut greenhouse gas emissions in order to limit global warming to 2° Celsius. At least 40 companies, 13 states and regions, and 74 cities have committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 80 to 100 percent, or acquiring 100 percent of their power from renewable sources, according to the brochure, produced for the June 2015 United Nations climate conference in Bonn.
