Center for Public Integrity Recognized for Innovative Journalism

RBF grantee Center for Public Integrity was recently awarded a prestigious Knight-Batten Award for Innovations in Journalism. The Center received its first-ever special distinction in the nonprofit category for three of its latest investigative projects: Tobacco Underground, Who's Behind the Financial Meltdown, and Broken Government.

The Center also claimed first and second place in the Society of Environmental Journalists (SEJ) Awards for its outstanding online reporting on coal and pesticide issues. These awards mark the fourth and fifth time the Center has been honored by SEJ, reputedly known as the world's largest and most inclusive awards for journalism on environmental topics.
