THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED.

TRIBE is a Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary arts collective founded by Shamel Pitts in December 2019. It is composed of international and local artists working across mediums including movement, choreography, lighting design, video mapping projection, poetry, spoken word, painting, cinematography, scenography, dramaturgy, costume styling, and music composition. As a platform that serves, supports, shelters, and cultivates an Afro-futuristic performance art landscape, TRIBE’s artworks humanize Black and Brown bodies and share the colorfulness within Blackness that allows us to be multiplicious.

The collective’s creative process allows for each artist to express themselves while in service to the vision of the artwork. It has an artist-driven vision, which premises that through individual artistic discovery, the collective will thrive. TRIBE is a collective where individuals, in all their otherness and beauty, strengthen and increase the vibrancy of the whole, adding richness and depth.

This event is presented in partnership with the RBF Culpeper Arts & Culture program.

A reception will follow the performance.
