Pocantico artist-in-residence and RBF Culpeper Arts & Culture grantee Amanda+James will present a work-in-process showing of NightBirds, an assemblage of revolutionary 20th–century composer Olivier Messiaen’s work. Through music and dance, NightBirds invites the audience to reckon with the current climate crisis and examine their interactions with the natural world.

Directed and conceived by James Danner; choreographed by Amanda Hameline; music direction and piano by Matthew Odell; vocals by Bridget Haile; danced by Jesse Barnett, Sierra Hendrix, A’Lexus Crooms, Anna Hull, and Michael Parmlee.

There will be a Q&A after the performance, followed by a reception with special access to the DR Center gallery, currently showing Inspired Encounters: Women Artists and the Legacies of Modern Art.

The snow date for this event is Friday, January 27.
