RBF grantee the Youth Initiative for Human Rights (YIHR) celebrated the graduation of its New Policy School's third class and the matriculation of its fourth, on Sept. 7.

The Rockefeller Brothers Fund has made revisions to its Pivotal Place: Western Balkans guidelines. As progress in the region is made, the Fund has clarified the guidelines, in order to provide a clear understanding of its direction and priorities in the Western Balkans.

The Rockefeller Brothers Fund (RBF) has earned the competitive LEED Platinum certification (LEED-CI v2009) from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) for its new office in New York City.

NativeEnergy has published a summary of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund’s carbon footprint from 2007–2009. Since partnering with NativeEnergy in 2005 to calculate and decrease its carbon footprint, the Fund has reduced more than 2,400 tons of greenhouse gas emissions.

Stephen Heintz joins the Steering Committee of Partners for a New Beginning, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization established to advance "renewed engagement with Muslims around the world based on mutual respect and responsibility.”

Civic engagement and advocacy are important tools for nonprofits to utilize to make change happen, but how organizations are allowed to get involved is governed by federal rules.  RBF grantees, the Center for Lobbying in the Public Interest  and Council on Foundations, have created two civic engagement toolkits for foundations.

RBF grantee 2030 Inc.'s Architecture 2030 has unveiled its new Web site, which showcases the progress it has made since its inception in 2006. The new site features a comprehensive and up-to-date tool for researchers interested in the building sector, where they are able to examine how the building sector relates to energy, climate change, and economic problems as well as potential solutions.

RBF grantee, the Abraham Path Initiative, Inc. is featured in The Guardian, as travel writer Kevin Rushby documents his five-day hike along the Path of Abraham. The Abraham Path Initiative seeks to promote understanding among followers of the Abrahamic faiths.
