On November 4, 2020, RBF President Stephen Heintz joined Matthew Amroliwala and Laura Trevelyan on BBC World News to discuss the implications of the 2020 U.S. presidential elections for American democracy. “Democracy is not just a set of institutions or processes,” Heintz said. “It is, as John Dewey said, a civic faith. It works to the extent that you believe in it. Nurturing the culture of civic empathy is hard work, and that is the work that lies ahead.”
