What We Fund

The Rockefeller Brothers Fund awards grants throughout the year to support a variety of charitable projects in the United States and abroad that seek to expand knowledge, clarify values and critical choices, nurture creative expression, and shape public policy.

Grants

To be eligible for a grant, organizations should be considered tax-exempt or seeking support for a project that would qualify as educational or charitable. The Fund’s grantmaking is organized around three thematic programs:

and three place-based programs, which support local endeavors to build knowledge, organizational capacity, and leadership needed to advance the theme-related interests in locally appropriate ways:

The Fund awards a limited number of Philanthropic Stewardship and Special Opportunities grants that support nonprofit infrastructure organizations and help to further the Fund’s mission. The Fund is unable to support unsolicited applications in these areas.
